The Last Deep Immersion

The 2nd book of August 2022. As I came to know reading clubs and the Miracle Morning, a change happened in my life too. If I used to live going around the same routine, now I have at least 30 minutes of my own time. I filled that time with reading, studying, or exercise; there were days I couldn't do it, but with the thought "I'll just repeat 'giving up after three days' a hundred times," I kept at it steadily, and at some point visible results appeared.

When I first read books, turning a single page was hard. I don't know how many times I reread something because I couldn't understand what it was about. But this time, while reading the book "The Last Deep Immersion," I concentrated intensely and measured for 2 minutes, and I felt my reading comprehension had grown a lot compared to the start.

Even now, my iPhone and iPod sit beside me, and they have rarely left my hands even until I sleep. If I hadn't had a phone, would I have read more books in my leisure time? As the author says, our infinite brain capacity is hindered by digital deluge, digital distraction, digital dementia, and digital deduction.

Reading is a wonderful method for awakening and developing the brain, and I intend to keep developing it. To do so, I set a list of books to read each month and a time, and read a set number of pages at the same time.

I set a small number of pages so as not to feel burdened, but increase the amount depending on the situation. Among the books I've read, I note down the things I want to remember and reorganize them in my own words. The best thing about the book "The Last Deep Immersion" is that it presents action.

The neuroscience of memory and various self-development books often present a summary of their research and various cases, but miss and pass over clear action (while reading, "so what am I supposed to do...?"), whereas this book tells you, in the last chapter, "Be sure to try this!"

Deep thanks also to the dawn reading club for recommending this good book that reawakened in me the joy of immersion. [Table of contents] Why do we think of ourselves as ordinary? An egg broken by an outside force ends life, but in an egg whose shell is broken by an inner force, life begins. Great things always begin within oneself.

Completely reset your old mindset. The things that become possible when our inner limiting beliefs disappear. Be sure to discover a reason you must immerse yourself. Why a sense of purpose is the power and key that summons motivation and energy. Burst your potential and go beyond your current self.

  • Sharing of practical methods to burst your potential. Tools and techniques.
  1. Escaping distraction and focusing. The ability to maintain consciousness on one task. Exercise willpower to turn your consciousness. Do only one thing at a time. Tidying up your surroundings is needed. whitespace: an intentional, strategic pause amid busyness. Switching tasks wastes over 20 minutes (avg. 23'15''). Doing a stress-inducing task—since it keeps weighing on the mind until completion, get it done!

: After 4-7-8 breathing, let's just handle it. Distracting thoughts—set a time and do them only then. 2) The ability to learn. Study time for lifelong learning. Recall actively. Repeat at intervals. Review for 4 consecutive days. Current state—check mood, correct posture; use the sense of smell.. take notes. 3) Improving memory. There is no limit to memory. MOM: motivation / observation / method (visualization, association, emotion, place). 4) Reading speed. Reading by following with your finger—the eye-regression rate decreases.

Widening peripheral vision. Recommended method; stand the book upright. Rest after 20-25 minutes. Make it a habit. Read for at least 15 minutes and check it on your schedule. When you go beyond the limits of reading and learning, you gain an incomparable level of freedom. Action: a list of books you want to read, and what changes will happen in your life when you finish them. 5) Expanding the breadth of thought. No fixed thinking; a fresh approach. The Six Thinking Hats (white, yellow, black, red, green, blue). See a problem from every angle.

Think exponentially. <『The 10-Day Plan』> Pick three pieces of advice yourself from the three areas of the 10-day plan or mindset / motivation / method. 1) Day 1: FASTER (p.90) Forget: The key to focusing wholly is to remove or forget the things that distract.

Three things to forget: what you already know / what is not urgent / your own limits. While reading, your thoughts may drift elsewhere, but don't try not to have stray thoughts. If you try not to think, you keep thinking. Instead, keep a notebook beside you, and when stray thoughts or ideas come up, jot them down. Handle them after you finish.

Act: active action. Ask yourself how you could learn more actively. Take notes. Try practice problems. State: current state. A snapshot of your present emotion, greatly influenced by your thoughts and physical state. If you control your mind and body state, you can change learning from boredom into excitement, curiosity, and joy.

Change your posture and the depth of your breathing. Consciously choose a state of joy, interest, and curiosity. Teach: teaching. Learn with the thought that you will teach others. Enter: putting it in your schedule. Even 10-15 minutes—write down a time to invest in yourself. A task not on the schedule does not get completed.

For the schedule title, give it a stimulating name worth keeping, like 'The Me Without Limits' or 'Time to Immerse in Potential.' Review: review. Review at intervals. 2) Eliminating ANTs. Grasp and refute ANTs (Automatic Negative Thoughts). Ignore the LIE (the limiting belief within the mind—the baby elephant that can't break free), and keep checking the BS (Belief System) too.

Refute with, "Just because I did this poorly in the past doesn't mean I can't do it well now. How can I learn this?" Once you recognize a limiting belief, it is not a fact about yourself but an 'opinion.'

Limiting beliefs let too much emotion act. Negative emotions narrow the range of what we can do. That is, all you can think of is escaping the tiger / the cause, and nothing else matters. Don't fit possibility to your head; expand by fitting your head to possibility!!!!!! (p. 19) 3) Questioning your own doubts. Reflect on the power of dominant questions. There is one thing you ask yourself unconsciously all day. Find that question and think about how you can change it. Ask a question that will help you get answers that give you the power you need all day. (p.97) Will Smith: 'How can I make this moment more magical?' 4) Imagining what you want most. Take time to write down the loss that will occur when you don't apply what you learned in this book.

Write down the benefits you will gain when you apply what you learned. Write it concretely. p.182 5) Reflecting on purpose. Purpose comes from how you relate to other people. Purpose is what you intend to share with the world as you live. What is your reason for being?

  1. Starting a new healthy habit. Try a small, simple change to newly create one healthy habit that will lead you to success. Make it part of your morning routine. Without the resolve to change what you do every day, you can never change your life. Our everyday decisions and habits have a profound effect on the level of our happiness and success. Small habits can gradually grow. Let's pick one new habit to start today. 7) Supplying energy to the brain. Use energy so that you can win every day. 8) Optimizing learning. We are lifelong learners. Let's create optimal conditions for studying and learning. Remove what hinders concentration, and use the HEAR (Halt, Empathy, Anticipation, Review) technique to practice listening while watching a new TED talk video.

p.269 9) Always remembering MOM. Check MOM (motivation, observation, method) and begin. Also check your own reason. 10) Feeling the effect of reading. Set a goal to read even 10 minutes a day. Reading has an effect, and its benefits grow even greater over time. What matters is consistency.

Pick a book you want to read, set a 10-minute timer, put away the things that distract, and practice reading with your finger. Set a daily reading time as a schedule and write it on your timetable.
